The Houston Community College Drama Program seeks to provide excellent classroom instruction in theatre arts, develop intensive individualized learning and artistic relationships with students and professional artistic staff, and to create performance opportunities (on stage, on film, and in all technical and design areas) for the widest number of interested students. Also, identify and select plays/productions that reflect the ethnic and social diversity of our community that challenge our student actors and entertain and educate our audience members.  Additionally, continue to develop collaborative partnerships with local theatres and universities to promote student employment and/or successful transfers to four year schools. And, finally to offer to our students, one of the most relevant core curriculum electives.

The HCC NE Drama Department takes this charge seriously and is constantly working to provide students with experiences that not only educate them in theatrical technique and theory but also broaden a student's knowledge
of the larger world.  Coursework combines with performance, both on and off stage.  Performances provide enhancements for course topics.  The HCC NE Drama Department always works to emphasize this symbiotic relationship between the classroom and performance.

A list of the HCC NE Drama Department courses is available under the Courses tab and please check out our photographs from previous productions under the Gallery tab.
